Bruxelles Trip

I’m leaving Paris for the weekend. Two of my closest friends proposed a road trip to Bruxelles to celebrate another friend’s birthday, and I accepted.

It’s my first time in the capital of Belgium. I don’t know what to expect.

I understood we have two parties scheduled on Friday and Saturday before heading back to Paris on Sunday. Most of the attendees are expats from Spain or Italy—which never fails to make great parties—and will be sleeping over at our friend’s place.

Needless to say, the scene will look like a painting from Ancient Rome: people lying around everywhere, cooking or feasting, preparing drinks or drinking, dancing or philosophizing, and seldomly resting.

It all reminds me of my college years. Nostalgia is the reason I accepted in the first place. I road tripped throughout the Balkans with the very same friends, and it was exactly the kind of international parties we would attend every Thursday night in Lyon.

Memorable times require great preparation, however. I already scheduled my articles to publish, but I’ll probably have to take the weekend off for once: hanging out with my friends, recovering from the parties, and strolling around Bruxelles will probably occupy the entirety of my time. I’m taking my laptop in case I get any free time to do some programming, but I doubt it will happen.
