My Current Micro-Habits
My workdays are divided into six micro-habits with no fixed schedule.
I usually start the day with coding and aim to commit a change or two to the code base of Cowriters.
I exercise around mid-day before my second meal of the day. Bodyweight exercises, running, biking, or resistance band training.
I cook something fresh every day. I try to do my grocery shopping after lunch and cook in bulk for two days. I want to gain weight, so eating is real work: it’s not unusual for me to have 4 to 5 meals per day. I vary my ingredients and seldomly add high-calorie side dishes to avoid palate fatigue. For example, I cooked a rice bean curry yesterday and added a hamburger with French fries. Today it’s mushroom risotto with an omelette and some fried cabbage.
I spend my afternoon outside if the weather is nice. I walk as much as I need, alternating between creative thinking and walking meditation.
I like to sit down at a terrace or inside a coffee shop to do some reading and writing. I then come back home and focus on publishing my daily post.
If I have some extra time during the evening, I either work some more on Cowriters or other projects (Sipreads, basilesamel.com, or Writelier), or go out to socialize.
