Still French

Ever since I set my eyes on becoming a software engineer, I’ve always wanted to work at an international level and be a world-class artisan.

I started seriously studying English relatively late, around 15. Spanish was my main second language, but I wanted to join a high-school course taught in English. I remember spending a whole summer attending extra classes and reading grammar books to up my level. I was eventually accepted, and this is how I developed an interest for international studies.

Ten years later, I have lived in 22 countries and met or worked with people from all around the globe. The pandemic hits the globe, and I have only one wish: to go back to the green pastures of France. Where my family and close friends live, where I’ll always belong.

It took ten years for Odysseus to return home to Ithaca. Hopefully, it will have only taken me 3 months and 11 days if I manage to catch my flight next Thursday.

Back to the place I was born with a new cosmopolitan view of the world, I think it’s time for me to embrace my roots and integrate them anew into my daily life.

I’ll never give up on my international ambitions, but I believe it would be foolish to renounce the incredible wealth I have as an entrepreneur to be able to address a 67 million people niche.

I want to translate my writings in French. I want to work with French companies. I want to perform my own Tour de France. Les dés sont jetés.
