The Poet's Eyes
Life is never boring to the poet, for his eyes can find beauty in the menial.
This ability is particularly interesting for truth seekers: if you can find truth in everything, you can learn from and sublime anything you lie your eyes on.
There is no such thing as boring people, only illusions to see through. Everybody is a teacher when we hone our observational skills. If you think you live a boring life, you probably need to examine it more closely.
With a little bit of imagination, the plainest object can entertain us. Remember your childhood, did you always need fancy toys to make good memories? The poet’s eyes have reverted to a childlike state, living the knowledge without any preconception or feeling of superiority. Adventures are around every corner, the world is exciting again.
There is no secret to awakening this mental state. Writing, drawing, or art in general, are activities that rely heavily on your ability to see through things. However, I believe you only have to slow down and pay more attention to things, sometimes to the point of obsession. The salt of life is found in the details. It takes great solitude to see familiar objects, places, people, and concepts in a new light.
